Background: Books Mark the World: Get your students to make bookmarks ( any style, shape etc.-  creativity is to be encouraged) and ask the students to write the following on the bookmark. 1) Student’s name, grade, name of school ( if a photograph of the student can be pasted on the bookmark that would be wonderful). 2) the title of a favourite book, the author and illustrator’s name. 3) one or two lines about why the book is liked. Conversations in Colour: Through their pastels, crayons or paintbrushes, children converse with /depict, either a character or a scene, from their favourite book so that a sharing and interest in books from different cultures is effected /enhanced.
