Summary: The purpose of the project is to expose children to the values of writing a diary; to encourage young children to write in a reflective and personal manner and express their anxieties, fears and concerns as well as their hopes and dreams-- hopefully this will lead to getting acquainted with others.
Description: The teacher will expose the pupil to the genre of writing a diary and will encourage the children to write and to include their dreams. "I have a Dream" is a project in which dreams are shared and exchanged between the children participating in the project. The teachers will aid in creating "dream circles"—similar dreams from all over the world. In these circles they will attempt to plan and initiate actualization of their dream. This is based on believing that initiative is the bridge between dreams and success. Printing a joint Book of Dreams includes their dreams which are to be promoted.
